In August of 1983 Hurricane Alicia made landfall on the Texas Gulf Coast bringing with it wind, rain and destruction. In the midst was a Houston Firefighter named Butch Edmonds that observed firsthand the destruction and rebuilding processes. Recognizing the need for quality, reliable insurance and knowing his Firefighter salary would need to be subsidized to support his growing family, he and his wife Mary set the foundation for Edmonds Insurance in place. Beginning with an office in their home in Waller, Texas they began offering affordable, competitive insurance options with reliable service and the business has been growing ever since.

Butch and Mary are still involved in the business but day to day operations are in the capable hands of their son Anthony Edmonds (himself a Captain in the Houston Fire Department) and his very knowledgeable staff that continue to provide quality, reliable, affordable insurance.

In May of 2014, Edmonds Insurance Agency acquired Texas Heritage Insurance Group located in Tomball. This branch has been serving Harris, Montgomery, and Waller Counties, in addition to other areas throughout the Texas since 1980.

Edmonds Insurance Agency has grown into a stable business with locations in Kerrville, Waller, Hempstead, Brenham, Tomball, Kerville, and Montgomery and the staff at Edmonds still prides itself on providing multiple affordable options and coverages to protect their neighbors and communities often when other agencies can’t. With over 40 insurance providers, they are able to offer coverages for homeowner’s, life, health, auto, commercial, farm and ranch, crop, mobile homes, antique vehicles and so much more.
